You can still achieve that with a background, and I think it will help. The viewer needs something to look at back there...it can be very simple things, like a wall....or maybe a desk with a computer....with very little details. You could even use color....like using a shaded "aura" around a figure. It's really good to fill the space and give ur viewer something to look at. ok….i figured u were going for minimalist. I'm assuming that you're drawing style is anime-ish....which is why the faces are shaped the way they are?....if so, thats good and I have no comment.. If not....you're faces are shaped weird lol. Is there a reason why your backgrounds are so empty in most of ur comics? It's ok....but sometimes a background can make an image that much better...even if ur backgound is minimalist.
